48 hours at the estate with a group of 16
How to plan a full weekend with 16 people without anyone missing someone else's plan: arrival, meals, activities and checkout, hour by hour.
With 16 people, a weekend with no plan at all tends to fall apart: some want the pool, others want to go out, and in the end no one meets up for lunch. This guide is the skeleton of a weekend that works with a large group, built to leave room for spontaneity without losing the moments worth sharing together.
Friday: arrival and first night
- 2 pm. Official check-in and sorting out bedrooms; with six rooms, the fastest way is to decide together before unloading the car.
- Afternoon. A last-minute shop in Talavera (15 min) if something is missing, or free time at the estate for anyone tired from the trip.
- Evening. Dinner together in the dining room or on the terrace: the first moment the whole group is together, worth making the most of.
Saturday: the main day
- Morning. The pool, the olive grove or the Route 14 trail starting right at the estate, depending on the season and the mood of the group.
- Midday. A long lunch on the terrace; this is usually when the afternoon plan gets decided together.
- Afternoon. A trip out (Toledo, Talavera, Puy du Fou) for anyone who wants to leave, or a quiet afternoon at the estate for those who would rather stay.
- Evening. The weekend's big dinner, with or without catering, at the table that brings all 16 together.
Sunday: checkout without rushing
- Morning. A relaxed breakfast and packing up bedrooms before checkout time.
- 5 pm. Official checkout, with plenty of time to spare since it is not at midday like most rural houses in the area.
- Check-in
- 2 pm on Friday
- Check-out
- 5 pm on Sunday
- Recommended shared meals
- Friday and Saturday dinner, Saturday lunch
Variations by season
This 48-hour outline changes little between seasons, but what fills each block does: in summer, Saturday morning is almost certainly the pool, while in winter it becomes time by the fireplace or a short trip to a nearby village. For a company group, the same skeleton works by swapping Saturday's free time for a work session, without touching the rest of the structure. The key is not what fills each slot, but keeping fixed the three or four moments that bring the whole group together.
FAQ
Does the whole group have to follow the same plan?
No, it works better to fix just a couple of shared meals and leave the rest of the time free for each smaller group to choose.
Can we book catering for just one night?
Yes, the catering service is booked by individual day, not all-or-nothing for the whole weekend.
What if we arrive before 2 pm?
Check-in is at 2 pm; if you need to arrive earlier, ask when booking in case there is flexibility that day.
