Pets welcome with prior authorization: what to tell us when booking, what space your dog has at the estate, and rules worth knowing in advance.

At Finca La Simona we welcome pets, but always with the owner's prior authorization, not as an automatic checkbox when booking. This guide explains how it works in practice, so the 'bringing the dog' part is settled before you arrive.

How authorization works

  • When booking, tell us the dog's breed, size and behavior: the owner confirms authorization based on that information.
  • There is no fixed list of excluded breeds, but how well the dog will get on with other guests and the estate's spaces is taken into account.
  • If you are traveling with more than one dog, mention it when booking so it is reflected in the confirmation.

What space your dog has at the estate

  • The garden and olive grove are large, enclosed spaces, comfortable for a dog to move around freely.
  • The estate has no neighbors in sight, which reduces encounters with other animals or strangers.
  • The seasonal pool is shared with the rest of the group: how the dog gets on with the water and the other guests is the owner's responsibility.
  • The Route 14 hiking trail, starting right at the estate, is a good way to walk the dog without needing a car.

Good practice with a large group

With 12 to 16 people in the house, it is worth letting the rest of the group know in advance that a dog will be there, especially if someone has allergies or simply prefers not to be around animals. Picking up after the dog in the garden and keeping it away from food areas are basic courtesies that help make the stay good for everyone, dog included.

If several families bring dogs

It is not unusual for two or three dogs from different families to end up in the same group of 12 to 16 people. In that case, besides the general authorization, it helps to mention how the dogs get on with each other, to avoid tension on the first day together. An outdoor space as large as the estate's helps several dogs coexist better than in a small house, but the introductions between them are still each owner's responsibility. A first meeting in the garden, on a leash and without rushing it, is usually enough to tell whether they will get along for the rest of the stay.
