What to bring and what you'll find in the house

Before packing for a group of 12 to 16 people, it helps to know what is already in the house and what is worth bringing. This list is meant to save you both extra luggage and last-minute surprises.

Already in the house

  • Wifi throughout the house, heating and air conditioning.
  • Firewood included for the fireplace and stove; extra firewood available for €12 per wheelbarrow load if you need more.
  • A fully equipped kitchen, ready to cook without needing to bring your own cookware.
  • A cot available on request, if you are traveling with a baby; ask when booking.
  • Private parking on the estate for several cars.

Worth bringing

  • Beach or pool towels, separate from the bathroom towels in your room, if you plan to use the seasonal pool.
  • Comfortable shoes for the Route 14 hiking trail or excursions nearby.
  • Warm clothing in autumn and winter, especially for evenings by the fireplace or trips to the Sierra de Gredos.
  • Insect repellent in the hotter months, standard for any house surrounded by countryside and olive groves.

Optional services, on request

  • A cook, a waiter and cleaning during your stay, bookable separately or all together; price on request.
  • A 30-litre keg of Mahou, tapped and cold for when you arrive; price on request.
  • Drinks at market price, if you would rather not bring your own.

A tip for large groups

With 12 to 16 people, it makes sense to divide up who brings what ahead of time: one person handles food, another drinks, another board games or things for the children. Coordinating it in the group chat before arriving avoids duplicates and, more importantly, avoids missing something on day one. The same goes for whoever organizes the drive: splitting luggage and the big shop across several cars keeps one from arriving overloaded while the rest show up empty, which matters most when the group is driving in from different cities and no one has agreed beforehand who is bringing what to the house on that particular weekend of the year.

None of this is meant to turn packing into a chore: most of what a group actually needs is already at the house, and the short list of things worth bringing fits easily into normal luggage. The point is simply to arrive knowing which of those two categories each item falls into, instead of finding out the hard way on the first evening.

A quick checklist before you leave home

  • Booking confirmation with dates and number of guests.
  • Your dog's details sent in advance, if traveling with a pet, to have authorization confirmed.
  • An agreed split of food, drinks and extras among the group.
  • A spare pair of shoes for excursions, besides the ones used day to day in the house.
